Richard Laslo originally from the Bethlehem / Easton, Pennsylvania area has been in the cartoon animation industry for over 40 years since the Golden Age of American animation.
He began his career in 1973 working for many companies throughout the years by working on some fascinating projects with many different animation departments. Some of the companies he has worked for are Atlantic Motion Pictures and Optical House (one of the largest animation film studios in New York).
The “Cel King” is a traditional cell painter, inker, graphic illustrator, and photographer. He is keeping the animation cell tradition (by hand) alive.
He began his career in 1973 working for many companies throughout the years by working on some fascinating projects with many different animation departments. Richard worked for Warner Brothers in the early 1990’s animating TV cartoons such as “Bug’s 50th Birthday!”, “Blooper Bunny”, “Lunar Tunes”, and “Invasion of The Bunny Snatchers” while drawing characters such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Marvin Martian, K9, Road Runner, Tazmanian Devil, Tweetie, and many others. He has worked on many TV commercials including “Tony The Tiger”, “CBS & ABC Sports Football”, “Francisco Rinaldi” spaghetti sauce (seen for over 10 years on national tv), and has done a “National Geographic TV Special”.
His work was then seen on NBC, ABC, CBS, Comedy Central, and Cartoon Network. In 2012 he worked with “Walt Disney” and created a 2-minute cartoon film presentation done on massive oversized cells by using more than 30 “Walt Disney” characters all hand painted. Also, he worked on restoring 1000’s of limited edition cells with “Hanna-Barbera”, “Warner Brothers”, “Walt Disney”, “Stan Lee” (Spiderman), and many others.
Richard animated 3 famous illustrative books with DMI Productions called “Danny and The Dinosaur”, “Baby’s Bedtime Stories”, and “Baby’s Morningtime Stories”.
