MALLIMO
Sal Mallimo: Writer, Animator, Producer.
Graduate of the Film School, School of Visual Arts, NYC 1970. As an artist, Sal was heavily influenced by two surrealist painters, Salvador Dali and Giorgio De Chirico. His films reflect those styles. Received the Gold medal award in 1970 at the Atlanta Film Festival for Mio Mondo, his second film of the trilogy. In 1972, Sal was invited to screen Mio Mondo at the Zagreb International Film Festival. The first film of the trilogy, produced in 1968, tilted A Time to Live, A Time to Dream, A time to Die, is a 7 min. Animated film. Received Second place finish in the 1969 First Esquire Magazine College Film Festival.
Sal enjoyed a 35-year film career in Film animation in NYC and operated his animation studio *Mimondo Productions, Ltd. from 1982-2005. Taught traditional animation methods with Claymation in 1992-2008 at The Joe Kubert School, Dover, NJ. In 2019, Sal completed digital coloring for the half-hour animated film BABA YAGA, a Russian fairy tale produced by Toon Workshop.
Also, in 2019, Sal self-published his memoirs, Piccolo Santino, or My Calabrian Childhood, in the ’50s. Then to New York Italian Style. In conclusion, Piccolo Santino and the films explain each other. Sal’s first book, A Walk in Time, Poetry from Real Life about Love and Death, is an illustrated display of original poetry. His most recent book, Water, Light, and a DOOR, is a bilingual collection of fourteen poems displayed over original photographs. His books are currently available on Amazon.
War With Myself, or Seeking Peace:
A 35mm. short animated film with live-action for the opening and closing. This production is the final film of a trilogy, triggered by a tremendously explosive political atmosphere during the 1960s in America.

It is the final film of the trilogy.
Haunted by violence and political upheavals in America during the 1960’s James Clark retreats inside himself. Surprisingly he is soon faced with internal opposition when he tries to return to the outside world. A series of battles develop within, between James Clark as a skeletal form of himself and his opponent, represented by a vulture. Trapped in his own world and feeling uneasy onboard a commuter train, James Clark realizes that to make it back to the outside world and have inner peace, he must think better of others.

Did Soundtrack analysis (indicating the vowels and syllables on exposure sheets to aid the animators with lip-synching characters’ voices) for seasons one and two for THE VENTURE BROTHERS.
