From 1991 to 2001, David starred as the body of
Barney in the successful children's television series, "Barney & Friends". Shooting a total of 125 PBS episodes, a feature film, “Barney’s Great Adventure, and over 60 home videos. He has also travelled the globe bringing love and happiness to many children. His love for children is immeasurable. He has made several national and international TV appearances. Oprah, The Today Show, Regis & Kelly, Regis & Kathy Lee, Good Morning America, just to name a few, He has performed at the annual White House
Easter Egg Roll four years. David has also been featured in both Essence and People magazines.
After moving to Los Angeles in 2001, David has continued working with the Barney team doing personal appearances around the country, and training Barney actors in other countries for another 5 years.
Hailing from Decatur, Illinois, where he graduated from MacArthur high school with honors. David Joyner then attended ITT Technical Institute in Indianapolis, Indiana, where he also graduated with honors with an Associate Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology.
David Joyner has been a Motivational Speaker since 1985, and full-time professional actor since 1990.
From 1990 to 1999 David was the Assistant Director and Head Acting Coach, at the Dallas Young Actors Studio and Performance Center, located in Dallas, Texas. A nonprofit organization, which helps children and young adults from the ages of four to eighteen develop their acting skills.
As a child, David always dreamed of being an Entertainer, and seeing people happy. He has always felt at home when in front of an audience. Growing up with few opportunities, and many obstacles in his way, he never gave up on his dreams. He has always been very passionate about entertainment. And in his own words, he loves to SMELL GREAT every single day. S - Shine, M – My, E – Eternal, L – Love, L – Light.
In 2005 David started his Spiritual Healing business, Tantra Harmony. Where he specializes in White Lotus Tantra Massage, Energy Healing, Reiki and Qigong.
David is a man who truly has passion for love and a bright light shining from within that he loves to share with everyone he meets. Besides being an Actor, an Entertainer, a White Lotus Tantra Practitioner, a Spiritual Energy Healer, a Mannequin Man, a dancer, a Purple Dinosaur, a Drummer, and a Motivational Speaker, he's a very humble, loving guy, who loves people.
