Matt. Murray is an award-winning writer, editor, and nerd who has worked in just about every commercial medium possible.

In comics, he was also a writer/editor on CLIVE BARKER’S HELLRAISER ANTHOLOGY, before moving over to Heroic Signatures/Titan where he engineered the recent relaunch of Robert E. Howard’s literary characters in both comics and prose.
He edited the CONAN novels BLOOD OF THE SERPENT and CITY OF THE DEAD, in addition to orchestrating the hit new run of the CONAN THE BARBARIAN monthly and the return of the black and white, magazine-sized SAVAGE SWORD of CONAN.
Matt.’s most notable role in comics and culture is as “The World’s Leading Smurfologist” having served as a consulting editor and writer for the Papercutz line of SMURFS comics since 2008 - with 2025 bringing the launch of the new SMURFS ARCHIVES reprints which he will co-edit and write historical essays for.
This winter, Matt. will be teaching courses in making your own comics at Northampton Community College through their Fab Lab/Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship.
